R5: I got a new result from the Doorway dimensional portal event. This one had a parallel universe that was collapsing in on itself and I had the option to evac their entire homeworld into our universe, which resulted in a copy of my homeworld with the "Beta" versions of my main species occupying it. The Mirror Dimension gives excellent economic rewards, while Null Void gives you a unique weapon you can't get anywhere else. Null Void is particularly nice since its an anti-shield energy weapon, meaning you don't need kinetic weapons at all. Closing it just makes you lose the job slot, it seems. I don't think anything really happens if you leave it open. But if you're a spiritualist empire, you can pray the portal away and get early access to Psionic Theory, which is nice. Or if you're a feudal society, you can fill the portal with rocks until something on the other side forces it ...
