I have flushed with distilled water several times and need to fill it back up with the proper coolant. The previous owner gave me a half empty bottle of Peak "fleet charge" that is pre-charged with SCA from when he changed the coolant 3 yrs ago, but I'm not ... Keep filling that chamber with epoxy. And maybe drop a few washers in there for good luck. Put the big nut back on, with epoxy, as well. That will almost completely make the valve a bypass. There WILL be just a tiny bit of a pulse in the line, however, due to the rest of how the valve works. For that, pic number three.

thx997303. Actually, it seems that the zf5 uses a bell housing adapter to connect to the IDI, but the zf6 doesn't use one to connect to the powerstroke. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic. The bell housing bolt patterns are the same. Though it looks like the zf6 may be larger around the rest of the transmission.
