In 1982, my Marlin 336 30-30 cost $225. I was able to buy it making weekly payments at the Western Auto. Today, that same $225 is right in line with the $1,000-$1,200 that older Marlins and new Rugers are bringing.

While I prefer the 1892 action design for more nostalgic old west appeal over Marlin 1894, the Marlins do have them all hands down for adding optics for more precise groups at distance. Yet, at the age of 68, I have only owned 2 Marlins and they were both bolt action rimfires.
