Basically its just a switch that increases the rpm slightly in order to warm the engine faster. As far as I know, there is no way to adjust/override the idle timing because it is a safety feature. Like. The engine cooling fan can be manually activated with the engine fan switch. The fan will continue to operate for a set amount of time and then turn off unless the coolant temperature is high enough to continue the fan operation.
