There is a toggle on the menu screen that you select to switch from Normal Mode to Master Mode. This can actually be a desirable property for a test account, since if you set it up right it lets you always have a progressed save to return to. But if you ever want to change it, the only way to do so is to delete all BotW save data for that account, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for a main account.

What I have created is a program (Breath of the Wild Save File Mapper) that can read much of the important information stored in BoTW's save files, as well as edit it.
