If you run at 4K, the in game mouse is tiny (doesn't scale right). So if you enable software mouse to increase mouse size, it also causes mouse lag. The amount of mouse lag is dependent on FPS. The reason a VPN worked is possibly because of pure coincidence of lag not being an issue (it's been pretty cyclical), because traffic still has to go through NTT to get to FFXIV's server, or somehow the VPN managed to route the traffic through different nodes?So bad that it's been hard to play frontlines.
