The M18 trigger on mine had creep that you don’t see in a T3. I fixed it but never had to that to a T3. The M18 is less expensive. Re: Ruger American and Tikka T3 I can't speak about the Ruger, but my Tikka is a 3/4" gun with factory ammo. It has a good adjustable trigger. The thing I don't like about the Tikka is the safety. You can't unload the gun on safe. It's like the Browning A-Bolts, which they changed with the X-Bolt. I also discarded the rings that came with the gun.Thanks to a certain sub, I've come across a deal where I can get a Ruger American .30-06 for $300 before tax. Or I can get Tikka T3 Lite for about $500 before tax. There is also an option for stainless/synthetic tikka which is $616 after tax, and a $400 dollar Ruger American with a crossfire II scope bundle. For me, and some others, the cheek weld on Tikkas is way too low and requires a riser or comb of some sort. If you are a reloader, Tikka actions can allow you to load heavy for caliber bullets and eke out a touch more powder capacity. Yeah I have been contemplating a Savage 12 LRP in, RPR, or a Tikka T3x CTR in 6.5 Creedmore. I have a Savage discount and could get the 12 for $775 and want to go check that out tomorrow. But I have tried the Tikka trigger vs a Ruger American and it was night and day in favor of the Tikka, but I did not like the stock that much.Ended up going tikka t3x in lite from Whitaker’s for under $700. My two buddies bought around th same time. One kimber and one browning. All three guns shoot about the same. The browning was about $400 more and is heavier by a pound.
