The horn works fine BUT in the process I saw little "sparky" when I accidently got the wrench on the middle post (Ground) and the upper post …No start, has spark and fuel. Hello folks. The factory service manual (along with many posts on different forums) states to disconnect the Black wire from the CDI unit in order to isolate the CDI from the kill ...Here is the information and what I have tried: - NO SPARK -. - Gauges and all other electrical items (lights, etc.) work. - The crank position sensor has been checked at swapped. Both test at 1017 ohms. (proper number is 1000 ohms +/- 10%) - The coil measures at 2.2 ohms on each part of the primary side (1-2 and 2-3). Book says 0.4 ohms.

Did something happen to possibly cause this issue, referring to you riding conditions and use of the Ranger. Give us a little more information.

After doing so it ran great until randomly shutting off after about an hour. It would then not start. I checked the spark plug and it was fouled out, so I bought a new one but still no spark.

The short was beneath the plastic loom.
