A very common reason for the Service Stabilitrak message is a misfiring engine. If the OBD scanner gives codes P0301 to P0304, for example, then that means a misfiring cylinder. The last digit is the cylinder number. Cylinders will misfire if spark plugs or the coils need to be replaced.
