But, of course, stuff that works on PoTD will be appropriate on the lower difficulties. When it comes to the attributes, Pillars of Eternity is a min-maxing game – to make a real difference, you really need to max the stats out.

However, since you'll almost always be fighting the same enemy as your companion, the racial bonus of a Hearth Orlan is a decent boost to lethality. Alternatively, if your build plan includes Powder Burns, the extra weapon set of an Island Aumaua could be useful.
