Jul 6, 2019 / Briggs v-twin loose valve guide. #2. Normally it’s suggested you replace the head. You can probably press the guide back but it more than likely won’t stay put. I have read and seen on YouTube where people have scored up the guide before pressing back in and had success. I personally have not tried this.
It helps to have the right compressor, but a couple of screwdrivers and beefy needle nose pliers will work. Tip: use the head , a spacer of some sort, and a couple of headbolts to hold the valve in place.
