Does the '17+ model Grom have a much different maintenance schedule than the previous generation Grom? I've seen this maintenance schedule posted in a few forums and it is much different than mine. Mine (2018 model) doesn't ask for a valve clearance check until 4,000 miles, whereas this one says to inspect at 600 miles.According to JE’s Senior Technical Account Manager Alan Stevenson, “You don’t want to break-in an engine at idle. You want to keep the rpm above 1,500 and vary the speed continuously for about the first 20 minutes.”. Husqvarna's instructions: Maximum Engine Speed During the first 620 miles: 6,000 RPM (with no rpm guage!) Avoid Fully opening the throttle.
