True a stock 700 or 4l60 can handle 400-450 and @400 at the track. There's pro/cons to both. The 200 is an easier swap but it also has better gear ratios than the 700.

The topic came up about how people are using the AR5s pretty reliably behind 600 hp range ls engines. Looks as if the AR5 behind 4x4 Chevy Colorado can be picked up for pretty cheap.The transmission came with a round rubber mount that had a single stud mount on the bottom. The transmission casting had two threaded holes. I used a 60-70's PG/350 mount with two bolts on the top & 2 on the bottom. Bolted right up to the transmission. I built my cross member, but I would expect a 350 transmission, cross member will work just fine.
