The "thetagang approach" is an extremely unsophisticated[1] option selling strategy even in the realm of retail trading. If I were you I would spend some effort on actually learning about options, options strategies, and how to implement options selling strategies. Selling naked options can expose you to extreme risks, and to ignore it is simply reckless. It's more important to avoid a huge loss than to make a huge profit, because all it takes is one big loss on a trade to make recovering from it impossible, ending your career in theta gang.

So, my selling opportunities are limited because IB's cash account policies are fairly restrictive, especially when working with American-style options. When I discovered XSP, I was pretty interested. Euro-style options at SPY prices with weeklies available. But, the OI and volume are brutal pretty much across the board.The most effective way is to close your position, take the loss and redeploy your remaining capital/margin on a better position.
