John Dies at the End is hands down the funniest book I've read, and then it'd be Lamb, A Confederacy of Dunces, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Breakfast of Champions is also good. John dies at the end is like if Douglas Adams tried to write a Stephen King book.

Lately I've had a hard time finding a good scary book to read. I read all of Stephen King (Salem's Lot) and Dean Koontz (Phantoms) books. Peter Straub (Ghost), Dan Simmons (Summer of Night) they're okay but not some of my favorite. I decided to give other horror authors a chance and found a few I actually enjoyed. My personal favorite (well, a tie-in with Ravenloft), is the most well-known one and The Library is the best resource on the books or if you want a timeline of major (and lesser) events. Another site would be Candlekeep : I haven't really browsed it in 4-5 years, but it doesn't seem to have changed much.

Dune by Frank Herbert is probably my favorite sci-fi book. Red Rising by Pierce Brown is my favorite sci-fi series. The Red Rising series is great. So many unexpected events. A bit like GOT in that way. I feel like it would make an incredible TV show. It would also need an absurdly high budget though.Non-fiction books that I enjoyed and learned from: Freakonomics, by Stephen J. Dubner and Steven D. Levitt (all 3 books) The Social Animal, by Eliot Aronson (Likely would've also changed my perspective on life if I had read it before some of the other books) Misbehaving, by Richard Thaler. The Dead Will Tell by Linda Castillo was brutal. It's about fifth in a series and dips a little into unrelated side plots that may not interest readers who aren't following along with all the books, but the core plot made a surprisingly huge impact about lasting damage that can result from an act of cruelty. Enders Game is absolutely a must read. His character development and the meta story about human greed for power is truly gripping. If you liked Ender's Game, you might like The Circle by Dave Eggers. Ender's Game is a space war dystopia written in 1985, The Circle is a social media dystopia published in 2013. silverguardians71 • 2 yr. ago. “Enemies to lovers but I’m actually desperately in love with you.”. The best example I can think of is the Simon Snow series by Rainbow Rowell and Louis and Lestat (read The Vampire Lestat if you don’t believe that it’s canon haha) 4. The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. Actually 4 books (Shadow of the Torturer, Claw of the Conciliator, Sword of the Lictor, and The Citadel of the Autarch), but its the peak of fantasy/sci-fi, IMO.
