The 2006 Honda VTX1300C is a great bike. This is my first "big" bike. I wasn't sure that a 1300cc was a bike that was too powerful for a novice rider. The roll on power is impressive to say the least. It definitely has enough "zip" to get out of trouble or around another vehicle in a hurry. The braking is great.

Our 1300 and 1800 are listed in group 5. Replace the drain plugs, making sure they have their respective crush washers. Torque both drain bolts to 22 foot-pounds. Step 7. Pour in 3.5 quarts of HP4 synthetic 10W40 engine oil. The VTX1800 takes 4 quarts of oil, so check the oil after you pour in the first 3.5 quarts to see if the engine will take the last half quart. One guy (who claims to be a mechanic) gave a long list of stuff he has to do to maintain the shaft drive on his Vulcan 750. I have owned several shaft drive bikes, and never had to do more than just change the oil and lube splines at the final drive. I looked at the service manual, and all it shows is change the final drive oil every 24,000 miles.
