Honda odyssey hood latch not working.
Basically, you need to remove the rear hatch inner cover and lube a union where two rods meet at the lock. I used teflon spray and it works like a charm. 2003 Odyssey EX--Original Owner. 345,000 Miles. Original tranny without a rebuild yet (knocking on wood!)

I removed the driver's door latch assembly (the white part with metal arms) along with the lock actuator (the black part) from a 2006 Odyssey (touring I believe), to transfer to my 2009 Odyssey EX. The 2006 latch assembly fit normally in my 2009 Odyssey.check for significant parasitic draws on the battery. From the service manual: SECURITY ALARM. Afterward the hood won't close at the sides and seems to be hitting the latching mechanism (the part that is mounted on the body, not the hood it's self), as though the latch has moved up about 3/4 of an inch. There isn't any obvious damage to the surrounding braces. Is that latch height adjustable?

Really there are 3 main things that cause issues with the sliding doors in this gen (and really other gens as well): the center roller, the rear latch, or the power release actuator. 90% of the time the problem is one or more of those things.14152 posts · Joined 2008. #2 · Jul 2, 2018. If the doors are open when you disconnect (or drain) the batteries the system will not know where they are when the battery is replaced or recharged. Turns out that it wouldn't latch completely, the lever that you have to lift to open the hood was locking normally, but the latch that uses a cable that runs into the cab was too far down to engage.
