As far as I know Horse Creek Chert is mainly found as float and nodules in the creeks of some areas of central to eastern Tennessee, but I have "heard" of a few lucky folks that have found veins to dig. The " classic " form, and a variety of the classic due to resharpening. The Lost Lake type does occur out of it's area, but is rare. The point posted is no doubt Onondaga chert, but I would put that in the Kirk Corner notch type. And when you find the other quarry lithics it's almost always an artifact.

Thanks again Sure looks like chert to me. Not sure if it's Grand Meadow since I am not familiar with that variety.
