Even if you set the tether distance to 1000+ ect, in the original Ark at least, non dedicated is still somewhat impossible if you want to do any caves as it breaks the tether no matter the distance. This can cause game crashes and other issues. This is definitely a major issue that I would've hoped would have been solved on this remaster.FIX Thether distance cant be changed. The game started crashing at the end of loading in. The only thing that fixed it was reducing the tether down to 20 or 9 or even 5. As in your situation, that had never been an issue in a thousand hours of play. I even upgraded to a latest-gen computer with an RTX 3060 to be absolutely sure my hardware kept up.

Oct 28, 2023 · Just most people today wouldn't notice it because most people's PCs are more than able to handle ARK SE with Tether Distance set to say 99 without too many issues. The Host's Computer has to keep track of everything the "OTHER" Players are encountering rather than those objects going into a deep sleep like they do on normal singleplayer. Please for the love of rockwell.....tell me they didI have like 240hrs playtime in ASA on my 4090 with an older driver to get it run smooth in max settings with frame generation ON.
